Dominic Pacyga
Tour led by Dominic Pacyga, Emeritus Professor of History at Columbia College. Pacyga has wide ranging interests in urban development, labor history, immigration, and racial and ethnic relations, and has worked with museums including the Chicago Historical Society, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Field Museum in Chicago on a variety of public history projects. He is the author of numerous publications including, from the University of Chicago Press, Slaughterhouse, and Polish Immigrants and Industrial Chicago.

The tour will travel through a variety of neighborhoods including Bridgeport, Back of the Yards, Bronzeville, Canaryville, and McKinley Park.

Historical themes to be addressed include: Industrialization and deindustrialization, ethnicity, labor history, housing conditions, and neighborhood development.
