Goals

The Illinois Council for History Education:

• Strives to promote collaboration amongst history educators at the middle school, secondary, and university levels.
• Promotes the development and implementation of effective history curricula
• Organizes conferences for history educators that combine content rich presentations with pedagogical strategies that can enhance classroom experiences
• Seeks to inform members of local, state, and national initiatives involving history education policy and works to insure that history remains a vital part of the school curriculum
