Membership

Membership is open to teachers, university faculty, students, and all individuals interested in promoting the goals of ILCHE. Your membership in the Illinois Council for History Education includes automatic membership in the National Council for History Education.

Advantages of membership:

When you become a member of the Illinois Council of History Education, you join a community of teachers and scholars working to promote history education. In addition, you will receive the following:

• The National Council for History Education’s newsletter: History Matters!, published digitally ten times per year.
• A subscription to the journal Historically Speaking
• Discounts to attend conferences sponsored by the ILCHE and NCHE.
• Discounted admission to museums and historic sites nationwide along with special discounts from publishers.
• Access to the Members-Only section of our website, containing archives of downloadable NCHE publications, including our popular curriculum guides.
• Have access to the NCHE Career Center which allows members the ability to create an employment profile and to search and be searched out by jobs related to their discipline.
• Become a member of the Time Travelers Network. Time Travelers receive special consideration from historical societies, sites and museums around the country.
• Membership rate is $50 for teachers and $35 for students (Student rate does not include discounted rate to state and national conferences).
